Some laptop batteries get really hot while charging, and if the laptop is running and under load they will get even hotter. Over HDMI, everything works nicely, even super high res stuff. My problem is whatever is in the battery for a controller and how it helps figure out remaining amount of power. I need to upgrade to 4.3.0-1.fc24.x86_64 to be sane again. Then shut down the laptop immediately.<<<< WORKED! My setup: xrandr |grep -w connected eDP1 connected primary 1920x1080+1920+414 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 309mm x 174mm DP2-1 connected 1080x1920+3840+0 right (normal left inverted right x axis Now the strange thing is that I had to revert kernel 4.3.0 because it caused other issues.

  • Same issues here: "plugged in, not charging".

  • I end up powering the monitor on and off repeatedly until it resumes functioning as expected.

Strange but exactly like Intrepid if I remember correctly. Friday, June 15, 2012 9:11 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Recently i got problem on Plug in,not charging.Battery has very low performance.When i used this straight method, Hp Elitebook 840 Docking Station Dual Monitors if we dis and reconnect the notebook all 3 display will work without problems.if the notebook will be booted opened, all 3 displays (notebook + 2 monitor)  are working fine.  With super annoying.

I tried her battery with my power cord in my laptop and that works perfect.

When turning off the monitors instead of allowing them to sleep, the same monitor still does not get any signal after being turned on. How does it know, when the laptop is off? I don't have any other applications up. That's not included in the OS(XP, Vista, Win 7) and improves battery life.Try this from Dell for the E1705. I only hope that it goes past 75% as Iwas only getting the battery to charge upto 75% with the status plugged in, charging, (even after manual battery calibration). I'm not very familiar with that laptop. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. so just wondering should I leave my battery anyway or remove it before I uninstall MS ACPI compliant Control Method Battery... Schweet!

Also, when you use the laptop on AC power and don't need to leave right away with it, take out the battery.
