I wasted lots of my time looking for possible solution and 1 little thing-removing battery and resetting Bios.I am Linux user and probably Linux update did it- changed my Bios setting

Was this answer helpful? I will look at the motherboard to see the connections (bus) to the processor and check if there is a short circuit or something like that. I assure you it is cost effective and it definitely is an ideal option to replacing a board. I simply assumed that some of my video drivers, DirectX 10, or a Vista component was out of date.

The OS is Windows 7 32bit. Thank you so much for the reliable info!!! My problem is I cannot get full screen video, and it seems to double whats above at the bottom. My display got garbled last time and it was repaired a year ago.

I could do the "bubble wrappage" again, but with some time on my hands I'm going to disassemble the unit and heat-shim-regrease both the CPU & GPU.

All fixed. If it is under warranty, please send it for repair. Can anyone clarify whether this is happening to ALL laptops or if this is fixed on newer ones? Last time this happened I couldn't boot up again, so hit the F8 key during boot up until I got the menu that let me restore to an earlier version.

The screen suddenly went blank. It will cause the solder to break down and even crack/split.. Tell them that you believe repair should be fair, affordable, and accessible. I had to go directly to the hardware manufacturers' websites to get the most recent versions.
