This can make Firefox slower, and in extreme cases, it can even make Firefox crash. As Windows Update memory usage skyrockets to 2GB or more when checking for updates, pagefile has to be used - and that disk I/O blocks everything on the clients. Poolmon Giving control to "Everyone" or another "user" that you abruptly created for files or folders can cause it because there's no such user available.

I tried doing other things with the unit while it was running, but they all locked up as before. I've watched it do this multiple times, and its repeatable. Also, try updating the remaining hardware drivers as it's a problem caused due to unmatching OS and drivers. it was literally the first thing we tried. In my environment, I can't disable the scanning, as compliance remediation is essential to our security policy.
